Student Discipline and Behavior Support (located at J.T. Williams Secondary Montessori School) provides programs and services for students with specific needs that have not been met in a traditional educational setting. The department also provides services and strategies to facilitate a safe and orderly school environment and helps prepare students behaviorally for academic success.

Mission Statement

The mission of Student Discipline and Behavior Support is to develop a foundation for academic success by providing preventative and responsive behavioral support for all stakeholders.

Vision Statement

To impact student achievement by cultivating positive relationships and inclusive environments through student-centered approaches that produce self-efficacy in behavioral education and practices.

Examples that clarify our purpose: 

• Manage or modify student behavior
• Rehabilitate students to re-enter the mainstream
• Access and utilize student learning styles and communicate to the  home school
• Identify/diagnose problems/needs of students
• Facilitate an effective learning environment for students who have violated rules in the code of student conduct
• Provide alternatives for students who have violated rules in the code of student conduct
• Allow students who have displayed behavioral issues to progress academically
