• DIBELS - mCLASS Literacy Assessments

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools administers the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills, 8th edition assessment (commonly known as DIBELS) to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. The DIBELS assessment is a literacy screening tool given three times during the school year: Fall, Winter, and Spring. DIBELS allows teachers to carefully monitor students' foundational reading development and reading comprehension. It also helps teachers design reading instruction in individualized, targeted ways.

mCLASS is the digital platform used to administer, score, and analyze the DIBELS assessment. DIBELS caregiver reports are called mCLASS HomeConnect Reports.
