I am excited to be the school counselor for CPEC! Opening a new school is an amazing opportunity. 2023-2024 will be my 15th school year as a high school counselor in North Carolina, and I look forward to using that experience to help develop the culture at Central Piedmont Early College.
I believe
-
all students deserve access to a supportive and challenging high school experience.
-
all students can succeed. Success looks different for every person!
-
education is collaborative. You get out of it what you put in.
I view the role of a school counselor as a navigator and a point person for the high school experience. If I don't know the answer, we will find it out together! I strive to provide equitable, data-driven services that promote academic, career, and socio-emotional growth. I believe in meeting students where they are and I look forward to supporting ALL of our CPEC students!
¾«¶«´«Ã½ me: I received my undergraduate degree from Elon University and my Masters in Counseling from UNC Charlotte. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but I have lived in Charlotte for since 2006 and I love it! When I’m not at school, I’m spending time with my husband, Matt, our kids (Jack & Clara), and our dog (River). I love (in no particular order): coffee, being outside, reading, the Cincinnati Bengals, being by the water, travel, exploring Charlotte, office supplies, and yoga.
