Car Rider Information

  • For the 2024-2025 school year, it is mandatory for all students being picked up by car at dismissal to have a car rider tag prominently displayed. This measure is implemented to ensure the safety and security of all our students during the dismissal process. Cars without a car rider tag will be asked to park so the person picking up the student can show office staff their identification at dismissal. After picking up your student three times without a car rider tag, parents will be asked to wait until the entire car rider line has been dismissed. This policy ensures the safety of students, as front office staff need to search for students during regular dismissal, which can cause confusion for both students and staff.

Car rider tags help our staff swiftly identify authorized individuals and vehicles, streamlining the dismissal procedure while maintaining a secure environment. It's a crucial step in ensuring that every child is safely accounted for and placed in the care of the right person. If you need to order a car rider tag for your student, please click . If you need a replacement, you can click on the previous link or message Mrs. Thompson.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in keeping our school community safe.

    • No early dismissals after 2:15 PM. After this time, all students will be dismissed through the car rider line. Please do not park and walk up to the school for dismissal. This is for the safety of all students.
    • Be on time. Dismissal begins at 3:00 PM, and parents/guardians should be in line by this time. Absolutely no cars should bypass the car rider line to enter the school after 3:00 PM—this creates a serious safety hazard.
    • Pick-up Deadline: All students must be picked up by 3:20 PM. Late students will be moved to the office, and parents will need to park and sign them out from there. Supervision ends at 3:30 PM.
    • Carpool Tags Required: Each student is issued a carpool tag that must be displayed in your car each day. Starting Monday, September 9, if you do not have your tag, you will be required to park and go to the office to show a valid ID before your child is released. IDs are required to verify pick up. Parents should not bypass the line, but wait until safely directed to move forward and park. If you need a carpool tag, please complete the form linked . Once in the office, parents will be asked to wait until a staff member releases the student. Staff are working dismissal to ensure the safety of all students, so parents will be asked to wait.  Thank you for your patience and helping us ensure safety.
    • Dismissal Process: Students will remain inside until their name is called by a staff member. Once called, they will exit the building to meet their ride.
    • Pick-up Locations: Cones are set up as designated pick-up spots. Your child will be directed to a specific cone, and we ask that you pull forward to that spot and allow your child to enter the car from the passenger side.
    • Seat belt Assistance: If your child needs help buckling their seat belt, please pull through the pick-up zone and park in a designated spot to assist them.
