Technology Accountability & Fees
Per policy, students are assigned a Chromebook and charging cable every school year. Students are solely responsible for the device once it is assigned. It is not the responsibility of technology staff to continuously re-assign devices due to damages or a device that is lost or stolen. Technology that becomes damages while in the student's possession is the responsibility of the assigned student to report and pay for the damages. Devices that are lost require payment of the device before another device can be re-assigned. Student devices that are stolen are eligible for free replacement IF the student or parents can provide an official CMPD police report stating the device as part of stolen property.
If a student damages a device, the damages must be paid for before the student can receive a replacement device. Ardrey Kell does not have enough devices to offer students loaner Chromebooks. AK does not have a loaner device program.
Consequences for Unpaid Technology Fees
- No additional technology assigned.
- Loss of parking spot.
- Uneligible to attend school dances and other events.
- Removal from graduation activities (per ¾«¶«´«Ã½, students cannot have any fees upon graduation).
- Withholding of diploma.
**Any student or family that is unable to pay for their technology or school fees must speak with the student's counselor and apply for a Fee Waiver.**
After you pay for a fee, please print or take a screenshot of the receipt to show technology services staff. We are unable to see when payments are made.
