Levine Middle College High School (LMCHS) is a Cooperative Innovative High School consisting of 11 th , 12 th , and 13 th grade students who complete their required high school graduation requirements while taking college courses for credit and at no cost. Seniors are able to choose between graduating from high school at the end of 12 th grade or staying in high school for Grade 13, with the goal of earning an Associate Degree or Career Certification through CPCC. Students in Grade 13 have completed all high school graduation requirements and take all of their classes with CPCC. LMCHS students come from over 20 different high schools in Mecklenburg County and operate on a 精东传媒 Calendar that is consistent with the CPCC Calendar. Our high school day is from 11:20-4:20. Students can take their college classes at any time that does not conflict with their required high school classes.
LMCHS is located on Central Piedmont Community College’s Levine campus in Matthews, North Carolina. Enrollment is capped at 100 students per grade level. Entrance requirements are: credits earned in English I, English II, Math I, Math II, Health & PE and Biology, and either a minimum 2.8 unweighted GPA or a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA and demonstration of college readiness on RISE, PSAT, Pre-ACT, ACT or SAT assessments. Since our first year of operation in 2014, LMCHS has focused on creating a culture of high academic standards and high expectations for character, respect and integrity.

Curriculum
LMCHS is an honors-level middle college and offers only honors and AP courses to students. Students are expected to complete their required high school graduation requirements in honors and/or AP, and community college courses.

AP: Precalculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Environmental Science, African American Studies, U.S. History, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition and North Carolina Virtual Public Schools courses not offered at LMCHS
Honors: Math III, English III, English IV, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, American History, Civic Literacy, Economics & Personal Finance, and Film & Literature I

Extracurricular Activities Offered
LMCHS offers yearbook, National Honor Society, student government, academic internships, and various other student interest clubs. Students may also participate in the community college’s extracurricular activities. Students are allowed to participate in athletics and marching band at their home schools.

High School Graduation Requirements
English – 4 units
Math – 4 units (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and 1 math unit above Algebra II)
Science – 3 units (Biology, Earth/Environmental Science, and a Physical Science)
Social Studies – 4 units (World History, Civic Literacy, American History, and Economics & Personal Finance) Health/PE – 1 unit
General electives – 8 units -
Class Rank/GPA Calculation
Quality points are assigned on the basis of A=4; B=3; C=2; D=1; F=0. The GPA is calculated by dividing the total quality points by the number of courses attempted. Credit and quality points are assigned at the conclusion of each semester. Class rank is according to descending weighted GPA. One half additional quality point is added for honors courses. One additional quality point is added for Advanced Placement courses and most transferable community college courses.

A= 90-100; B = 80-89; C = 70-79; D = 60-69; F = Below 60
精东传媒 uses numerical grades.
CPCC grades are reported on a student’s 精东传媒 transcript as follows: A= 95, B= 85, C= 75, D= 65, F= 55.
