    Selwyn Elementary was established in 1959 and is the home of the Selwyn Eagles! Selwyn is located on the SouthPark Campus, which has 120 acres of wooded, hilly terrain crossed by two creeks and nature trails.  Our feeder schools, Alexander Graham Middle School and Myers Park High School, are located on the Southpark Campus. The beauty for students attending Selwyn is our close partnership with our feeder schools that are within walking distance and opportunities for learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom setting. 

    Selwyn Elementary is composed of a Lower School and Upper School.  The Lower School houses our Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade classes, Extensions, K-2 Developmental Separate Class, as well as the following special area classes; Art, Music, Physical Education, Media, and MakerSpace. The Science Lab, a new special area class, is located in the stand-alone building located at the top of the Upper School parking lot.  Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade are located in the Upper School.  

    Traditions have always been a hallmark at our school. Selwyn students participate in programs such as Selwyn Celebrates the Arts, the fifth-grade school play, grade-level field trips sponsored by our devoted and active Parent Teacher Association, and Nature Trails and Tales. Selwyn also has quarterly award assemblies in which students are recognized for their effort and excellence in all content areas, special area classes, and showing great character through demonstrating our Eagle P.R.O.U.D. traits. This has been a wonderful way to bring our community together and reinforce our shared values.

    The instructional day begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 2:45 p.m. Student drop-off begins at 7:15 a.m. and ends at 7:45 a.m. If parents/guardians are in need of after school care or seeking extra-curricular activities, Selwyn Elementary has an After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) with hours of 2:45 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. In addition, we offer a variety of after school clubs.
