Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Mark Anderson

I was born in New York City and spent part of my childhood on the sea islands off the coast of Charleston, SC. I completed most of my education in NYC Public Schools, earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Sociology from the State University of New York at Albany. I also hold a Master's and Advanced Certification in Counseling Psychology, a Master's in Special Education from City College of New York, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ.

For 15 years, I taught in NYC Public Schools, serving as a special education teacher, homebound teacher, guidance counselor, and related service specialist. I then spent 8 years as an assistant principal and principal in Salem-Keizer Public Schools in Salem, Oregon, followed by 15 years as principal of Crown Point Elementary School with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (精东传媒). I retired in 2018, but returned to 精东传媒 as a part-time administrator in 2022.

I am married to Teresa, a clinical nurse educator, and together we have three adult children and five grandchildren. I enjoy traveling, playing tennis and golf, and reading books on Biblical studies and autobiographies. My greatest passion is supporting children in their educational journeys, helping them succeed through mentorship, guidance, and the development of creative learning approaches for nontraditional students.
