STEM education is an approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Along with content knowledge, a strong STEM program establishes student behaviors, which include engagement in inquiry, logical reasoning, collaboration, and investigation. The goal of STEM education is to prepare students for post-secondary study and the 21st century workforce.
K-2 Magnet Compact
1. Parents must attend 3/4 parent conferences (person or virtual)
2. Scholars will have less than 5 tardies and/or absences in a quarter.
3. Commit to reading 15 minutes a day and be read to for 15 minutes a day, for a minimum of 30 minutes of engaging with a text daily.
4. Scholars must also complete 3 Read-Reflect-Respond sheets a month.
5. Demonstrate a rating of progressing in any/all STEM, Enrichment and Science classes.
6. Take and pass 25 math and 25 reading iReady lessons per semester at 85% mastery or higher.
7. Consistently attend, 90% attendance rate, school-based tutoring recommended by teacher.
3-8 Magnet Compact
1. Parents must attend 3/4 parent conferences (person or virtual)
2. Scholars will have less than 5 tardies and/or absences in a quarter.
3. Good academic standing, no F’s on quarter report card. If scholar is on academic probation they must consistently attend, 90% attendance rate, school-based tutoring sessions. 精东传媒 probation results in having a F in a class or having multiple D’s on in a quarter.
4. Commit to reading 30 minutes a day and complete 3 Read-Reflect-Respond sheets a month.
5. Pass any/all STEM, PLTW, Enrichment and Science classes with B or higher.
6. Take and pass 25 math and 25 reading iReady lessons per semester at 85% mastery or higher.
7. Be on track to take and pass an honor level, or high school course.
8. Complete the grade level appropriate community service hours and projects. *
